Heron Island delivers the best of the Great Barrier Reef while immersing guests in the natural surroundings of a remote coral cay that is a designated wildlife preserve. Accommodations include rooms set amongst an ancient Pisonia Forest or on the beach, as well as air-conditioned suites and the larger Beach House. All accommodations offer relaxed, low-key comfort and immediate access to the beach and snorkeling sites surrounding the island. Meals at the resort's Shearwater Restaurant are included in the accommodation plan. Social areas include Baillie's Bar, entertainment lounge, library, an outdoor terrace, and the Pandanus Lounge, which provides weekly entertainment. The on-site Aqua Soul Spa offers a full range of treatments, with three single treatment rooms and one couple's room. Heron Island caters to all level of marine enthusiasts with 20 unique dive sites easily accessible by boat within minutes of the jetty. Land activities include guided nature walks and stargazing tours.
